James currently works from his studio in his hometown of Bolton. He gained a First Class Hons Degree in 1994 from Leeds Metropolitan University. James exhibits regularly in England and his immediately recognisable work is fast establishing his reputation across the country. The constant in his paintings is his fascination with the texture of light and dark. He has gained many awards for his work, including a highly commended award from The Manchester Academy Open Exhibition. He has exhibited with Art for Youth London for many years; and is a previous winner of the Wates Foundation Diana Brooks prize.

The buyer of the artwork is responsible for the collection and/or delivery costs of artwork. If they are not present at the live auction the UK Youth Events Team will contact them after the auction to arrange payment and collection.
