How to Bid

Registration is via i-bidder personally for this auction or at City Auctioneering Ltd’s Sale room either on viewing day or the morning of the sale.

All lots are subject to an ibidder buyer’s premium of 18% + VAT

City Auctioneering will be happy to execute commission bids on your behalf if received no later than 4.00pm the day before the sale. Please use the commission bidding form from our website at www.citybid.co.uk and click onto Buying Guide.

Sale Procedures

The Auctioneer shall regulate the bidding and shall determine from time to time the appropriate increment needed to advance the bidding. The person making the highest accepted bid shall be the purchaser as defined in these conditions. If a dispute arises as to any bidding, then at the discretion of the Auctioneers either:-

(a)The lot to which the disputed bid relates shall immediately be put up again or

(b)The Auctioneer shall determine the dispute and his decision shall be final and binding to all parties

The Auctioneers’ reserve on behalf of themselves and the vendors have the following rights:-

(a)To sell subject to a reserve price

(b)To bid on behalf of a vendor and/or purchaser

(c)To refuse any bid

(d)To rearrange, consolidate, divide, add or withdraw any lots or vary the order of the sale

Risk

The buyer is at risk as soon as the hammer falls and is strongly advised to effect insurance at once. Purchasers should note the lot boxes are for display purposes only. They are not intended for carrying items that may be displayed within them. The Auctioneer and/or Vendor accept no liability whosever , should a box with contents split open whilst a purchaser moves it during the clearance period.

Damage

Any person or agent attending, who damages a Lot, whether sold or not, will be held liable for all damage caused and shall reimburse City Auctioneering Ltd or its agents for all costs and expenses relating to rectification of such damage including consequential loss.

Condition & Warranties

All items are sold as seen with no warranties or guarantees regarding suitability for purpose. All electrical items are sold for reconditioning purposes only. Items can be tested on site.

Catalogue Description

Buyers are advised that they must inspect and form their own opinion as to condition and accuracy of the Auctioneers’ description of both the item and its condition if stated. The descriptions given are for guidance purposes only. Please note that the description and condition against each lot is The Vendors’ Description and should be taken as for guidance only. As stated in Terms and Conditions, all items in the sale are “AS SEEN”. Buyers please be aware that (1) No item has any warranty with regards to title or purpose (2) GLT sold here has all undergone a clearing procedure with the vendor transport company and are sold under their terms and conditions of business

Payments

Notification will be by email of your successful bids. Payments to be received no later than 12noon on the Friday following the sale. Collection times 9:00am – 4:30pm on the Wednesday of the sale and Thursday & Friday following the sale

Delivery/Clearance

Buyers are reminded that lots stand at their risk from when notified of purchase by email and is their responsibility to insure such items at their expense. Clearance & collection on cleared funds only. We do not offer shipping as a service but are happy to pack items in boxes or on pallets for your courier to collect. Please note this will be a separate arrangement between you and the shippers, not City Auctioneering Ltd, and all contact, arrangements and costs for packing (where applicalbe) & shipping will be between you and the shippers.

Where goods are to be exported outside the EEC by the buyer, and within 3 months, VAT will be refunded but only when the Invoice of Export is provided e.g. Certificate of Shipping. VAT will still be payable on the buyers premium and any storage costs incurred.

Non Payment

In the event that cleared funds in full are not received within the specified time period the Auctioneers reserves the right to rescind the sale by notification email to the address on the registration form and re-offer the lots. These buyers will be banned from ALL our future auctions and report to ibidder as non-payers. We reserve the right to charge for any losses or costs arising.

Non Clearance

In the case of paid items not being cleared we reserve the right to charge a storage charge of £10.00 + VAT per lot per day from the 4th day after the sale unless previously agreed with the auctioneer
