Dunn Bros Auctions – Terms & Conditions

1.0 Bidding

1.1 Once you have created your bidding account, you can register to bid.
1.2 Manual approval by Dunn Bros Auctions may be required. We reserve the right to decline any bidder account.
1.3 Additional information may be required for verification.
1.4 This may include a Driver’s License or utility bill.
1.5 You must agree to the Terms of Sale during registration.
1.6 All bids are legally binding and cannot be withdrawn.
1.7 Account Holders are responsible for all bids placed under their account.
1.8 Bidders must be 18 years or older.

2.0 Winning Bids / Payment

2.1 Winning bidders will receive invoices by email — check spam/junk folders too.
2.2 Payment must be made within 24 hours of invoice issuance.
2.3 Payment is by bank transfer or personal debit card only. No credit cards or alternative payment methods are accepted.
2.4 Cash Payments: In line with UK Money Laundering Regulations, Dunn Bros Auctions will not accept cash payments above £5,000 (whether in a single transaction or multiple linked transactions). Any payment above this limit must be made by bank transfer or personal debit card.
2.5 Include your invoice number as payment reference.
2.6 Only bid if you fully intend to adhere to all Terms & Conditions.

3.0 Reserves / Provisional Bids

3.1 Reserve prices may be amended at any time.
3.2 If a bid is under reserve, it may be submitted to the vendor for consideration.
3.3 Vendors can accept your bid within 24 hours — payment will then be due.
3.4 You do not need to be the highest bidder to win.
3.5 If your maximum bid is accepted after the auction, an invoice will be issued within 24 hours.

4.0 Lot End Times & Removal

4.1 Dunn Bros Auctions may withdraw any lot at any time.
4.2 End times for timed auctions may be extended or altered.
4.3 We cannot guarantee availability of lots after auction closes.
4.4 We accept no liability if a seller fails to provide a lot.
4.5 No claims will be entertained for unavailable lots.
4.6 If an item becomes unavailable after payment, a full refund will be issued.
4.7 Bids placed in the last 10 minutes will extend the auction time for that lot.

5.0 Buyer’s Premium / Fees

5.1 A flat Buyer’s Premium of 20% applies to each lot.
5.2 This charge is subject to UK VAT at 20%.
5.3 There are no other fees, commissions, or hidden charges. Dunn Bros Auctions absorbs all online bidding platform costs (including BidSpotter and iBidder fees). The Buyer’s Premium of 20% + VAT is the only fee payable.

6.0 VAT Charges

6.1 All lots are subject to VAT at 20%, unless otherwise stated.
6.2 VAT also applies to the Buyer’s Premium.
6.3 Some lots may be sold with no VAT on the hammer price — check lot descriptions for confirmation.

7.0 VAT Refunds / Export

7.1 Buyers exporting goods will be charged a deposit equal to the VAT due.
7.2 Export must follow legal regulations with proof submitted within 28 days to the vendor and to: internet@dunnbrosauctions.co.uk.
7.3 Without proof, VAT is retained and deposit forfeited.
7.4 VAT on Buyer’s Premium is non-refundable.
7.5 If using your own transport, refunds apply only with valid proof.
7.6 Dunn Bros Auctions may refuse any bid or sale at its discretion.
7.7 We do not arrange shipping but may include customs details upon request.

8.0 Viewing of Lots

8.1 Viewing is recommended.
8.2 Viewing is strictly by appointment before bidding ends.

9.0 Description Accuracy

9.1 Descriptions are vendor-supplied — no warranties.
9.2 Inspect descriptions and images before bidding.
9.3 All lots are sold strictly as seen. No warranties or guarantees are given. Dunn Bros Auctions accepts no responsibility for defects, faults, or breakages.
9.4 Details are correct at time of listing.
9.5 Mileage/hours not guaranteed unless stated.
9.6 Buyers must perform their own checks, including finance/title issues.

10.0 Lot Images

10.1 Provided by vendors.
10.2 For guidance only.
10.3 Stock images may be used.

11.0 Registration Plates

11.1 Buyers are responsible for checking visible registration plates.
11.2 Private plates are not included unless explicitly stated.

12.0 Collections

12.1 Collection instructions sent after payment.
12.2 Strictly by appointment.
12.3 Collection is arranged with the vendor.
12.4 Check lot descriptions for date restrictions.
12.5 5-day grace period; after that, 5% + VAT/day applies (min £20 + VAT/day).
12.6 After 20 days, goods are deemed abandoned with no refund.

13.0 Delivery

13.1 Dunn Bros Auctions does not provide delivery.
13.2 Delivery offers in listings are provided by vendors.
13.3 No quotes are given before payment.
13.4 Dunn Bros is not liable for delivery issues.

14.0 Storage Charges

14.1 Storage fees are 5% + VAT/day, min £20 + VAT, charged daily incl. weekends/bank holidays.
14.2 Fees apply to each lot.
14.3 All charges must be paid before release.
14.4 Goods uncollected after 20 days are forfeit.

15.0 VDI Checks

15.1 Lots with registration numbers are VDI checked.
15.2 Details accurate at listing time.
15.3 Buyers must perform their own due diligence.

16.0 Refunds / Buybacks / Renegotiations

16.1 No refunds, buybacks, renegotiations, or contributions will be considered.

17.0 Terminations of Auctions & Account Holders

17.1 Auctions may be terminated at any time.
17.2 Bidders may be blocked or suspended without notice.
17.3 Dunn Bros Auctions reserves the right to ban any account permanently.

18.0 Payment Terms & Consequences for Non-Payment

18.1 Payment is due within 24 hours of auction close.
18.2 Non-payment within 48 hours is a breach of contract.
18.3 The lot will be withdrawn and penalties apply:

• Invoice for Buyer’s Premium due in 7 days

• 8% interest annually on unpaid amounts

• £295 administration fee

• Debt recovery costs (minimum 15% of invoice total)

18.4 All legal enforcement measures will be pursued.
18.5 By bidding, you agree to these terms and penalties.

19.0 Warranty and Liability

19.1 Dunn Bros Auctions is not a party to the buyer-vendor contract.
19.2 Descriptions come from vendors — no liability is accepted.
19.3 Trade-only auctions are not subject to consumer legislation.

20.0 Confidentiality and Non-Circumvention

20.1 Auction-related info must be kept confidential.
20.2 Direct contact with vendors is prohibited without prior consent.

21.0 Feedback and Disputes

21.1 Send issues to Dunn Bros Auctions directly.
21.2 Feedback about vendors should be handled privately.
21.3 False or harmful public feedback may result in action.

22.0 Governing Law and Jurisdiction

22.1 These terms follow the laws of England & Wales.
22.2 All disputes must be resolved in English courts.

23.0 Amendments to Terms

23.1 Terms may be updated at any time.
23.2 It is your responsibility to check for changes.

Authority of Auctioneer (Dunn Bros Auctions)

Dunn Bros Auctions reserves the right to:

• Set reserve prices

• Bid on behalf of vendors

• Allow vendor bids up to reserve

• Withdraw or cancel lots

• Rearrange or re-order lots

• Disclose or withhold reserve prices
